rock, soul

St. Paul & The Broken Bones formed in 2012, releasing their debut album Half the City in 2014 and its follow up, 2016's Sea of Noise, to much acclaim, placing them on the national scene. The band worked hard to prove they were no mere retro-soul band—from relentlessly touring, including opening for The Rolling Stones, headlining at the Ryman Auditorium, to TV appearances including The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Austin City Limits, and three appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In the band's new album, Young Sick Camellia (RECORDS), St. Paul & The Broken Bones has created a space to rival any forward-thinking band making music today, based on a concept all-too familiar: family, and how we love them despite our differences.Next Event

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
$60 | $45
Click for more information ↓
ballet, comedy, dance

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of traditional, classical ballet in parody form and en travesty. Les Ballets Trockadero first performed in the late-late shows in Off-Off Broadway lofts. The TROCKS, as they are affectionately known, quickly garnered a major critical essay by Arlene Croce in The New Yorker, and combined with reviews in The New York Times and The Village Voice, established the Company as an artistic and popular success. By mid 1975, the TROCKS' inspired blend of their loving knowledge of dance, their comic approach, and the astounding fact that men can, indeed, dance en pointe without falling flat on their faces, was being noted beyond New York. Articles and notices in publications such as Variety, Oui, The London Daily Telegraph, as well as a Richard Avedon photo essay in Vogue, have made the company nationally and internationally known.Previous Event Next Event

The Beach Boys
$85 | $75

pop

You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. This band has birthed a torrent of hit singles like “Surfin',” Good Vibrations” and “California Girls” and sold albums by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies in the fact that The Beach Boys changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt. The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut 40 years ago. Their Capitol Records release, Sounds of Summer, was double platinum with over two million in sales and climbing, marks a resurgence in Beach Boys interest that continues to rock the world. We are pleased to announce that each purchased ticket comes with a digital download of Mike Love's upcoming album, 12 Sides of Summer. You will receive an email from officialCOMMUNITY, on behalf of The Beach Boys, approximately two weeks after your ticket has been purchased. George Hinchliffe's Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
$40 |$25
Click for more information ↓
instrumental, pop

This original musical ensemble features only ukuleles of various sizes and registers, accompanied by the natural voices of the performers. Best known for playing versions of famous rock songs and film themes, the Orchestra often changes these songs to subvert the expectations of the audience. Often a slow piece will follow a fast piece to maintain variety, and a rock song may be followed by classical music. The concept is that if a “level field” is maintained by playing only the one kind of instrument, then all kinds of music can be played quite easily without the variety appearing to be chaotic. With a mission to make something fresh and entertaining, modern and old-fashioned, audiences like the result. They have played for members of the British Royal Family, Houses of Parliament in London and have “Sold Right Out” twice at Carnegie Hall in New York, twice at The Royal Albert Hall in London, and also at Sydney Opera House in Australia.Previous Event Next Event
